HWC contribution to the New Year for children in Kyiv
HWC has been supporting various children’s institutions in Kiev for many years now
- through donations,
- help/materials for renovation work and
- organizing events such as film screenings and sports festivals.
In a war, all those affected suffer, but the youngest ones the most. This year, in addition to other private and HWC donations already made, we wanted to take this into account.
This year we have chosen a state-run pre-school facility in the OBOLON district. This institution currently cares for 67 children.
The current situation in Ukraine is difficult, especially for children. With the daily air alerts, they are forced into a shelter where the options for care are naturally very limited. The daily power cuts dictate the daily routine. These also resulted in the entire lighting of the kitchen being affected by overvoltage, making it even more difficult to provide for the children, especially with hot meals.
Together with the municipal administration of Mirow, we have
- energy-saving LED lights for the kitchen,
- an iron and
- a big box of Christmas sweets for each child.
