On 25 March 2026, an event entitled “Reconstruction of Ukraine – Opportunities for the German Economy” took place at the Munich Press Club. The event was jointly organised by the Bavarian Industry Association (VBW) and the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations. HWC was represented by partner Dr Thomas Winkelmann.
Following introductory presentations from Kyiv, Brussels and Munich, participants discussed key issues relating to the facts, needs and scale of the reconstruction, support for market entry, tenders in Ukraine, and financial instruments provided by the EU and the German government.
In conclusion, it was noted that, despite the ongoing war, it is necessary to begin participating in the reconstruction now in order to accelerate it and seize market opportunities.
